ASO Intelligence is built so your research stays on your device. Here is exactly what leaves it, and why.
Last updated 29 September 2026
The short version
- Your keyword lists, tracked apps, rank history and reports live on your device.
- AI features send the app, keyword and review data you choose to analyse to our server and to Anthropic, to produce the result.
- Apple Ads credentials stay in your device's Keychain and go only to Apple.
- No analytics, no ads, no tracking. Not in the app, not on this website.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Stripe. We never see your card.
Research data stays on your device
Everything you research and track (keywords, tracked apps, watchlists, rank and listing history, alerts and generated reports) is stored in a database on your device. We do not sync it, back it up or have a copy of it.
To research the App Store, the app requests public data directly from Apple's public App Store services: search results, app listings and customer reviews. Those requests go from your device to Apple.
Subtitles, competitor In-App Events and related apps are read from Apple's public App Store pages directly by the app on your device. Our server isn't involved.
AI features
When you run an AI feature (keyword insights, review and ASO scans, feature gap analysis, metadata suggestions or a report), the app sends the data you chose to analyse to our server: the app, its listing, the keywords and their scores, and the competitor reviews involved. Our server passes it to Anthropic, which processes it to generate the result and returns it to you.
We do not keep the content of those requests after the response is delivered. To count AI credits, our server keeps a credit balance tied to your subscription, or to a random identifier created when the app was installed.
AI features only run when you start them. Nothing is sent for analysis in the background.
Apple Ads credentials
If you connect Apple Ads, your client ID, team ID, key ID, chosen ad account and private key are stored in your device's Keychain, as a local item that does not sync. They are used only to request access from Apple and to call the Apple Ads API directly from your device. They never pass through our server and are never logged. Disconnecting removes them.
Licence activation (direct Mac download)
When you activate a direct-download licence, our server records your Stripe subscription ID, the name of the Mac (as set in System Settings) and a random device identifier created by the app. That is how the 2-Mac limit works, and how the app can show you which Macs use your licence. Deactivating a Mac removes its record.
Purchases
App Store subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple; we receive confirmation that a subscription is active and nothing about how you paid. Direct-download subscriptions are processed by Stripe; Stripe tells us the subscription's status and the email address used at checkout so we can issue and renew your licence. We never see or store card details.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking
The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request logs to serve and protect the site. When you download the Mac app from this site we add one to a daily total for that file; no IP address or other detail is stored with it.
Notifications, including the morning brief, are scheduled on your device.
Contact form
Messages sent through the support form go to Tanooki Studios. We use your email address to reply to you and for nothing else.
Your choices
You can delete all research data by deleting the app. You can disconnect Apple Ads and deactivate Macs from inside the app. To ask about or delete anything we hold (licence records, credit balance, messages), get in touch.
